Supporting Our Community
Whether you are born and raised in our one of a kind city or you were a visitor that just never left, everyone talks about the “spirit” of New Orleans. That spirit is in our jazz music, our shotgun houses, and our café au lait. At Doerr Furniture that spirit thrives in a long-standing family tradition of making sure this community continues to thrive.
Through our partnership with WWOZ and the New Orleans Musicians' Clinic, we created the Sound Sleep
Initiative we are providing mattresses to local musicians and other members of the New Orleans cultural community. This initiative is to help give them a much better chance at getting a good night’s sleep when they get home from a long days work.
Our showrooms feature several local artists, one being our very own Richard Pendelton. Richard is a Design Consultant and has been with Doerr since 2008. He currently has on display his canvas paintings and his hand-painted silk ties.
In conjunction with Habitat for Humanity when you purchase items to replace unwanted furniture in your home we connect you with the organization to have the items removed from your home and get donated to the ReStore where the proceeds from the sale of the items are used to buy materials to build houses for families in need.
At Doer Furniture our passion for quality and service extends beyond our showroom floor. We are compelled to give back to our community through charitable partnerships and through featuring local artists looking for a place to display their creations. After all, it’s this unique community that has allowed us to do what we love for four generations.
